HOW IT ALL STARTED
Madam Grace Opoku-Addo, an eminent Educationist, is the key to the founding of the school. The idea began in October 2000 with the construction of the first phase consisting of the ground floor with four classrooms ready for use by September 9th 2002.
In order to get children to occupy those rooms, there was the need to advertise, and so a house-to-house method of advertising was adopted by using brochures and fliers, and this was done with the help of the proprietor and her grandchildren and some of the workers on site. The first class consisted of sixteen pupils and five teachers. Management, realizing the need to accommodate children flocking in from neighbouring schools, decided to start the Junior Secondary School.
By the start of the 2003/2004 academic years, this had begun in earnest with a total of 24 pupils. Our first batch of JSS pupils sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examinations, organized by the West Africa Examinations Council, with 100% passes in all subjects. At this point, we believe in the saying that “hard work and diligence to duty pays” and this has always been our hallmark of success.Courses Offered at SHS
